What We Do

Since 2002, Imperva’s Threat Research team has been dedicated to protecting cyberspace and defending against cyberattacks. Threat Research works tirelessly to detect and predict emerging threats, and make Imperva’s products more efficient, as well as innovate new cyber threat detection and promote cyber awareness.

Who We Are

The Threat Research team has a wide variety of roles, and is made up of team members from all around the world. Our team includes analysts, researchers, data scientists, security engineers, reverse engineers, and vulnerability researchers that hunt for zero-day threats. The teams also share their knowledge with the cyber security community through interviews, blogs, podcasts, and conferences.

The Security Analyst team is responsible for keeping security engines of the core Imperva products up to date, proactively analyzing new threats and vulnerabilities as they emerge, and putting in place the content required to mitigate them. They also undertake projects related to product enhancement and active threat hunting.

The Research team focuses on emerging threats, and develops cutting edge detection and mitigation technologies.

The Data Science team leverages big data and machine learning to deliver insights and data-driven solutions for emerging threats and cyber security challenges as part of Imperva products.

The Vulnerability Research team’s job is to make attackers’ jobs harder by finding and responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities in popular services.
